Yiquan seminar was organized in Kiev, Ukraine, December 2012

Another Yiquan seminar was organized in The Hague, The Netherlands, 22-25 November 2012. Two more students completed basic training program.

Recently quite many people who are practicing Wing Chun are becoming interested in learning Yiquan, usually as some kind of supplement to their main art. There must be some reason behind this, so many people are becoming curious about similarities and differences between Yiquan and Wing Chun.

Another of series of yiquan seminars was organized in Florence, Italy. 20 participants passed grading test.

Chinese Yiquan Summit was organized in Yantai, Shandong province, 3-5 October 2012. There were speeches, demonstrations and experience exchanges. Master Yao Chengguang was explaining evolution of yiquan. On the last day there was a tourist program.

A special Yiquan commitee was established as part of Handan city (Hebei province) Modern Combative Sports Association. Yang Baoqun (disciple of Zhang Zhong and student of Yao Zongxun) became the president. Xie Yongguang (disciple of master Yao Chengguang) became secretary o new organization. Masters Yao Chengguang, Yao Chengrong and Cui Ruibin were nominated honorary presidents. More photos...

We just came back from China, where we've been training with master Yao Chengguang in Zongxun Wuguan school in Beijing. Together with master Yao we also went to Handan city in Hebei province, where we had participated in the founding ceremony of a new local yiquan organization, giving a demonstration and having some pushing hands challenges. During our stay in China we also hand one day free, when we went to  Gushanzhai - a beautiful spot in mountains, about 100 km from Beijing. More photos and videos soon.

Yiquan Team from Handan, led by Xie Yongguang - master Yao Chengguang's disciple, participated in International Wushu Culture Conference and Tournament in Beijing . Team members won 3 golden and 1 silver medal , mostly in tui shou divisions. There were more than 3000 participants from over 50 countries.

Yiquan Sanda Combat Training Center was opened in Linqing, Shandong province. Master Yao Chengguang's disciples: Wu Weike, Xie Yongguang and Liu Chuncheng participated in the opening ceremony.

A conference commemorating great yiquan master - Yao Zongxun was organized by Beijing Yiquan Study Association of Beijing Wushu Association, with support of Hong Kong Yiquan Society, 30-31 March 2002 in Beijing. There were more than 500 participants. There came: president of Chinese Wushu Association - Li Jie, vice-president of Asian Wushu Federation and president of Hong Kong Wushu Association - Huo Zhenhuan (Ian Fok), director of Beijing Wushu Institute - Wu Bin, secreteary of Beijing Wushu Association - Mao Xinjian and old master from Beijing wushu circles. The conference embodied the spirit of scientific attitude and was pronounced a success.

A book about history of Yiquan in Handan city, Hebei province was published. The co-authors are: Yang Baoqun - student of Zhang Zhong, who learned yiquan also from Yao Zongxun, Ao Shihong and Ao Shipeng. Xie Yongguang - one of top diciples of master Yao Chengguang.

Master Yao Chengguang's seminar was organized in Stuttgart, Germany from 26 to 28 May 2012. Previously master Yao was teaching in Italy in 2001 and several times in Russia.

Before the main highlights clip from YIQUAN.COmpetitions 2012 will be ready, here is a clip from Winners' League fights. We have created Winners' League on request of a person practicing Wu Taijiquan, who after a stroke is not able to participate in typical combative competitions. So we agreed to prepare some format for such people, using YIQUAN.COmpetitions Easy Tui Shou rules. Unfortunately that person couldn't come to our tournament, due to injury which happened to him a few days before the competition date. However we were able to conduct this project with 2 elder ladies (70+ and 60+) who are training with us basics of yiquan and some taijiquan and another, younger lady (50+) who is a taijiquan and qigong practitioner. They were fighting against each other, and finally each of them had opportunity to try fighting against the winner of the normal Easy Tui Shou. For almost 100 years yiquan have been developing the training methods. Wang Xiangzhai said: „You should know, that studying science is not about following the rules written down, and you should avoid stictking to protecting some shortcomings and continuing wrong ways, but the stress should be put on experience and creativity”. So when he encountered western boxing, he noticed its practical and scientific aspects and bravely adopted part of it into yiquan.

YIQUAN.COmpetitions Easy San Shou tests were organized in Warsaw, Poland

In 1999 a first International Tournament of Traditional Wushu was organized in Taizhou, China. There were forms, special demonstrations like breaking objects, and... Lei Tai - fighting on a platform surrounded by water. Several yiquan student's from the school of master Cui Ruibin participated and won medals. The Lei Tai part is from 3:50 to 6:05.

Wang Xiangzhai's daughter - Wang Yufang passed away on 14th March 2012 at age 93.

Nikos Athanasakis from Yiquan Academy - Greece won a sanda tournament in Thesaloniki.

Mariusz Kwasnik - Yiquan Academy instructor in Lublin, Poland, who is also a karate practitioner, won gold medal of kyokushin karate championship of eastern Poland last weekend in Biala Podlaska.
